Yes, there is a metabolic component to cancer. However, we also have to consider penetrance. No doubt exposure and lifestyle can change a person’s statistical deviation toward or away from the mean value of diseases like cancer and heart disease.

I would like to know the studies that Glassman is referring to when he says that saturated fat does not drive heart disease. Or at the very least, why he thinks it's a bad hypothesis.

When a guy with no medical training or medical degree address a group of people with medical training and medical degrees and ultimately says ‘your professors got it wrong’ while selling his own snake oil rooted in his extensive background in medicine...oh wait

Isn't this the opposite of the diet-heart hypothesis? And I know it's a bit contentious in the literature but isn't the idea that saturated fats cause heart disease still the most pervasive hypothesis?

Keeping the populous sick and unhealthy but still productive is worth hundreds of billions of dollars each year. Like margarine is healthier than butter.
