Grounding is one of my go to coping mechanisms. Once during mania and feeling overwhelmed, my therapist gave me a bucket of sand to put my hands in to use my sense of touch to center me. This is fantastic advice, Doctor!

So true and am so glad am listening and learning as well as attesting - on sat afternoon I had to get some photos taken and I had my mind racing as I waited in line. While waiting I just happened to look at some lovely photographs up on the wall just in front of me. Immediately I felt a sense of calm and realized my mind was not racing...
Just sharing this as testimony.... thank you so much because this is what we need to shift mind focus... thank you

I was wondering if this would help me in a situation I had last week. I work from home and was giving a demo of a software program. The project owner was asking questions about some bugs/failures we had recently and I was trying answer the questions. But in the meantime my next door neighbor (I live in a townhouse and the walls are attached) starts playing loud music and making a lot of noise, like vacuuming or something. I just felt like crying because I felt so helpless and powerless to do anything. 😢😢 I just feel like my whole life is falling apart sometimes 😢😢
