Toyota has just teased twice this past week on the revival of MANY classic and legendary nameplates. Can we expect the #fj and #previa to return? Also the #toyotamr2 and #toyotacelica ? #starlet ?

As soon as I saw the Previa I was hooked to this video, lucky enough to still have one in the family, quite possibly my favorite vehicle of all time

The old convertible Celicas started off as fixed roof coupes and when they were shipped here, a famous company called ASC, American Specialty Cars, converted them to convertibles. ASC did a lot of work with many automakers to convert coupes to convertibles back in the 80s. Did a quick search and found out they are no longer around :(

My hype kinda pulled back when I saw how much those sports cars would cost.
the old MR2 was the "Poor mans..."
As a poor man, I can't afford this new ones base model. They're also priced roughly with base model mid-engine corvettes, likely with a larger motor.
I'm super glad they're bringing back the sporty stuff, but damn... I'll have to wait for them to hit used markets maybe.

I would like to see a Chaser, a Cressida or a Soarer back as well

I wouldn't be surprised if the Yaris was ditched for the Starlet as a subcompact.

I remember watching either the Land Cruiser rocks reveal video or the 4Runner Surf video I think Toyota mentions they made special machining parts to make these vehicles which doesn’t really make too much sense if you’re just gonna do it once and never use them again I mean they could just be wasting a ton of money, but it seems more likely they’re gonna make more than one as maybe a production model eventually also they said they had the engineers working with the people building the concept for Sema for both the 4runner and Land Cruiser

I remember Toyota, a while back, announced the FJ reveal would be in November 2024. Ironically, they showed the SEMA LC I'm stalking this because I'm an 08 lifted with Trail Teams edition black-out mods on a Voodoo blue FJ owner.

I would love to see the little Starlet, we need compact fuel efficient cars. Too many big cars in the market already.

Kirk, When you survey the Japanese vehicle fleet you get Minivan envy while I suffer a bad case of Wagon envy. ;-) As I am too old for Instagram, I can only respond to Toyota via your Comment section: 1) Starlet - Yes Please 2) Previa- why not but the HiAce would be better 3) FJ Cruiser. Sure as long as it comes with visibility 4) Celica - Manual Yes 5) MR2 YES!

With Toyotas recent return to F1, I’d like to see them go all out with the MR2. With cars like the AMG One and AM Valkyrie, I think Toyota should build the MR2 as a street legal Super Formula car.
I really want to see them use the TS020/GT-One styling for the MR2, and for them to use the Sera style doors.

Back in 1981 the Starlet was rwd with a 1.3 4 cylinder.

I owned a Previa in 1991, it turned heads as I passed by, I was the first owner of a Previa in June 1990 in Quebec.

I wish Nissan would bring back the NX from the early 90’s. That would be competition to Toyota & Mazda small sporty affordable cars. It was one of my favorite cars to drive.

I always admired the MR2 and Celica as a kid in the 90s several family members of mine have owned Toyotas going back to the late 1970s though none were sportier models Corolla station wagon/sedan Camry sedan Prius wagon etc. if I wasn't legally blind I wanted a Solara SLE V6 Convertible or a Chrysler Sebring LXI V6 convertible as my first car if I wanted a sportier car if I'd wanted a four door sedan it would've been either a Ford Crown Vic LX or a Buick Regal

Interesting considerations, I hope that Toyota also brings in an EREV series of vehicles

Toyota can’t keep up with the demand for the models they already produce they really need to increase production volume considerably of the models they already produce.
