I've always been frustrated by how much troops shuffle around with the field marshal orders, and I thought the only remedy was railroading them to the next point (so they are at least there faster).
The shift + left click field marshal frontline order will be a godsend!!

wow, more than 1600 h in single player, but I learned something new: Shift left klick on a field marshall plan and it’s one plan….. I didn‘t know that. Thx👍👍👍

Guderan, need you to battle plan Luxembourg... but don't assign any divisions also need you to do something completely different... Looks legit to me!

Important thing worth noticing is that when you create battle plan with shift, if you have air wings assigned to different generals all the planes will fly over one same air zone. Its because shift plan makes every army deploy equally along the front line on top of each other and planes think that divisions are on the beginning of the line, while wings from every army thinks the same. If you use this way of placing front line it's better to micro planes separately.

You know, after 1, 200 hours this video made me realize I've fat fingered shift left click before but I always thought it was a glitch with my field marshals. Never knew it was genuinely a feature and a good one at that. Thanks!

GODSEND VIDEO! It was frustrating watching combat tutorials just for them to not even mention how to battle plan but it turns out I was just searching for the wrong content.

Thanks for this. I’d been noticing the different FM order in people’s videos, but you’re the right content creator I follow that’s actually explained it to us SP peasantry.

Thx for working with Pygin. I love both of your accounts, and I love the mix of basic knowledge/more advanced tips. More collabs in the future pls!

Thanks I have started over as Germany so many times so I don't have a lot of battle plan experience. Getting there though been trying lots of different things build up putting the war off efficiencies etc. Studying what works and what doesn't learning lots of things.

This was very informative! I just started the game this week, and I was very annoyed(and confused) that divisions that I moved manually(micro'd) would keep going the wrong way the moment they were done, because I didn't know how to give battle plans properly, and how to unassign them from microable divisions.

The shift key is a really important key in Hearts of Iron 4

I have a reason why people may not have the field marshall arrow. Turn off the mod "FPS map" and "Strategic view adjustments". This worked for me. 😁😁

The "empty battleplan to micro" method doesn't provide benefits since the divisions are not sitting at that front. Plus, they can't rest to regain org since they'll always try to get to the battleplan.

I am confused by your tip to prevent reshuffling of division placements using a FM BP. Assume that you are attacking the USSR as Germany. Do you just create 1 solid BP with all divisions under that FM assigned, then create a secondary FM BP below the one u just made without any divs assigned?
I was really confused with what to do to prevent that reshuffling.
