What does the bible say about household salvation?
Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.
Many of God's people have unbelieving family members. We can see from the scripture that God's plan of salvation was not only to save us but with our seed or household!
Deuteronomy 12:28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee forever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
We find that no promise of God is automatic but is conditional. We must not only do what is right in the eyes of the Lord for our own salvation but also continually have faith in the promise of household salvation for our lost loved ones. We have to hold fast the confession of our hope for them till we see them come into the Kingdom!
Hebrews 10:23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:
Your family might currently be going astray for a while, but we are not to walk by sight. We are not to agree with what we see or speak the curse over them. We are to speak and believe what the word of God says about them.
Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 FOR TO YOU IS THE PROMISE, AND TO YOUR CHILDREN, AND TO ALL THAT ARE FAR OFF, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.
