I'm indian and religion wise hindu too but i never believe in God from beginning...after hearing 1st time atheist word i used to call myself atheist .. Then now i realized i was never atheist but spritual adwait (non dual) .. As in hinduism there is no code and conduct, no compulsary rule to go temple or praying..we are free what ever we want.. In school days we usually do debate with friends on atheist vs theist it was so fun, we giving logic and couters back to back.. As side of atheist we are more heavy on my theist friends, we are still friends 😂 but it was so fun..even in play competition in school, because i was senior in 9tb grade i make a story inspired from a movie... Against superstition, and froud happening based on god or believe.. We create play against god, where god was accused...to destroyed a buissnessman shop by natural disaster.. So buissbessman filed a criminal case against god who destroy his shop, becuase everyone usually said that everything happend arroud us is act of god..and address of god was temple, church, mosque etc..beacuse there are many preist doing froud in the name of god..in my school, No one offended it was good days memorable..
May be for you it's weird that I'm hindu but i never know about hindu scripture... Even my own parents don't know.. Only some stories they know.. But now i discover vedas, upnishad, vedanta, geeta.. And budhhism which i already little bit know because of my debate i used give logic from budhhism.. At end of play we give disclaimer that purpose of this was not hurting feelings....Now my view is much more broader... I realized I'm not athiest but spritual person who don't believe just because someone said and written..i think essence vedanta is questioning..and discovery of truth.. Earlier i only here name about 4 vedas in school history book.. Because it's indian history too..

Jesus attain Mystysim in India.. In his 17 year of his life spend in India kasmir..where Jesus grave is also located and written in Hewbrew that a man name saint Jesus graveyard..and mediation is all about pointing you thought in one direction we hindu called it third eye.. For example an ordinary man have mind like torch light which spread all over.. But maditation put a magnifying glass which give you a power to brought your thought altogether with high intensity and after that you cracked nature law and now you are no materialistic person at all now you have merged with God .. It takes years to attain enlightenment..and there is a Teqnique to do mediation..it is not like that you inhale and exhale..there is a proper teqnique to do so..for that you should find a guru..there are also fake guru roaming around so be aware .or you can read some guru book..
