Kalle is definitly among the top drivers in the world! First of all rally drivers are a special breed and he is the youngest world champion...abd double chanpion. Takes time off to do Porsche, drifting and F1...and kicks butt in all of them. Amazing guy.

He's this cool as a cucumber in the WRC, too. It's not an act, he's really this chill at every stage end interview. I don't recall him ever getting [visibly] angry

It seems like if you’re a good rally driver then you can drive literally any kind of race car well. Been watching him easily win drift events and fight for podiums in Porsche Cup races this past season and I can’t get over how well he’s able to adapt and learn the car control. I was wondering if there’d be a time he’d get behind an open wheel of some sort so I almost wasn’t surprised to see this one. He’s an incredible driver!

Regular drivers: ", congratulations you hit 60% brake force, well done!"
Kalle: *locks up front brakes*

Not surprised. Rally drivers are literally the best when it comes to feeling the car and grip.

Yeah, I think he’s earned the privilege of coming back and giving him a full day to try the team out and a new car. I’d love to see him on the circuit, the guy is amazing.

Rally Drivers are amazing. This is a fun concept!
Whoever came up with this idea, give him a raise!

The car is the RB8, from 2012. The RBR didn't get f1 until 2014, so direct comparisons are difficult, but in 2015 (ignoring 2014 due to regulation changes) the fastest by the RB11 was, iirc, in the mid 1.11s by Ricciardo. a 1.15 is quite impressive for a first timer, in a car that's about as fast!

Kalle is a true natural talent. He has been driving all kinds of vehicles from the very early age and I guess that is the reason why he can adapt to any in no time. If it has a motor and wheels, he can master it.

Never works the other way round, no modern F1 driver has done anything remarkable in a rally car. Even Kimi was only middling and of course Kubica was up at the lower end of the quicker drivers but he had that really awful off.
I met Rovenperä, s dad several times when he was doing the British championship as my car was prepared by the same team. Top bloke as is his son.
