Back in Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu died so that The Dragon of Dojima can live.

Now in Infinite Wealth, The Dragon of Dojima died so that Kazuma Kiryu can live.

Sayonara, Kazuma Kiryu.

The Dragon of Dojima, 4th Chairman of the Tojo clan, owner of Morning Glory Orphanage, son of Shintaro Kazama, brother of Akira Nishikiyama, lover of Sawamura Yumi, grandfather of Sawamura Haruto, father of Daigo Dojima, rival of Goro Majima, best friend of Makoto Date but most importantly of them all: father of 9 awesome kids.

All that we need now is to see Kiryu reuniting with Haruka and the rest of the kids on-screen. That's it, let the man get his rest at last!

i absolutely love how most of the comments are people saying goodbye to kiryu. we’ve all stuck with him for so long that he feels like a real person integrated in our lives, we’ve seen him at his happiest, saddest, calmest, angriest, and everything in between. kazuma kiryu is one of, if not the greatest character in video games as not just a genre, but as an art form.

I realized Haruka at infinite wealth has the same age as Kiryu in the beginning of Yakuza 1

We've seen Kiryu cry, sing, fight for his life, he was the main character for 8 (excluding 7) games, and seeing him actually "fading away" is truly sad. This theme captures the feeling of knowing someone throught his ups and downs, its not cool its just beautiful. Makes me drop a tear.

The Dragon's cherished bonds, greatest battles, and ultimate legacy.
From the boy wanting to become Yakuza to violating his oaths to defend the ones he holds dear no matter the cost
A man who has lived by many names and titles but shall always be remembered as
Kazuma Kiryu

I was going through a bad time some time ago, and to distract myself I decided to try that funny "GTA like" japanese game.
It was one of the best decisions of my life. Kazuma Kiryu might not exist physically in our world, but his memory, and his NAME will live forever in my heart and mind

I really hope Kiryu beats cancer but FULLY retires after this

No more adventures, no more fighting, no more...well, The Dragon

Its time to lay the Dragon to rest. It's been on hell of a time

I have to be honest, I bawled my eyes out in Gaiden, and once the trophy for IW popped up I did it once more - Kiryu deserves to rest, man. The Dragon fades away, but is that truly a bad thing?

The Dragon of Dojima dies... so the man behind it can live, truly free.

I've followed Kiryu from 0, when I first started in the Yakuzaverse, to IW where we see his strength fade as the torch is passed to a fresh face in Ichiban. From all the friends he made, brotherhood that persevered, family that was fostered and faught for....Kiryu has lived a very hard life. A dragon, a brother, a father, Grandfather, and now the most simple thing at the end of it all, a man.

There is only room for one dragon, and now it is Ichiban.

Didn't start tearing up until I got shown Haruto taking his first steps.

That’s the best fanmade sendoff for a character I’ve seen.

At 8:48, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since I’ve played 6, or what kind of mood I’m in, I will always break down seeing Kiryu take his final steps away from Morning Glory as Haruto takes his first.

Just finished Infinite Wealth last week. I think part of the reason I held off on it for so long is that I didn't want to say goodbye to a guy that's left such a big impact. I was not looking forward to seeing Kiryu suffer, but after it is all said and done, I'm just glad he finally gets to rest.

What makes someone a *Legend?*

Is it their ambition? Their goals? Their looks?

Well... Ambition and Goals are definitely important... But they're not the only things.

What makes a Legend, what creates a Legend... Is the story they go through. Their battles, their companions, their experiences, their relationships, the wisdom they acquire. What makes a Legend is a combination of all of these things. They don't even need to aim to be a Legend, because as he said earlier: "These titles come with these things."

He did not create the "Dragon of Dojima" after all... *_It was bestowed upon him._*

Rest in peace kazuma kiryu chan, you've been the best legendary dragon of Dojima, for all we know.
It's time for the dragon to rest, and come back again, when the time is right.
Jo Amon might not have another rival to fight against, but..
Everyone dies at some point.
Fly high, kazuma kiryu,
Jo Amon, will miss your presence, even as a rival.

"having a rival who fights you constantly, is better than a fake friend that betrays you."
