Thank you for making the video.

Three options (mentioned in this video) for obtaining Peruvian residency:
1- Investor Visa: Minimum investment amount 150.000 USD + hiring at least 5 people,
2- Rentista Visa: Passive income at least 1.000 USD per month,
3- Retirement Visa: Pension at least 1.000 USD per month.

In general, for those with no passive income or insufficient passive income, Peruvian residency would be more difficult to obtain compared with Ecuadorian or Mexican residency. However, with Peruvian passport one would have access to residencies of almost all South American countries (which the Mexican passport does not offer) under the framework of Mercosur, and also visa free travel to Schengen area and UK (which the Ecuadorian passport does not offer).

You have missed at least a couple major points. If a guy, say me, wishes to stay longer than the the 90-day tourist visa, he needs to obtain the ‘carnet de extranjeria, ’ an onerous process these days. Used to be you could just apply filling out a form at Migraciones in Brena. No longer. Now you need an appointment to begin the process. Throw in that Peru in the last ten plus years has been overrun with migrants, almost all from Venezuela. And the government is now trying to ‘regularize’ the Venezuelans. Good luck getting an appointment. As couple Immigration officials have told me, take your 90-day visa and just take your chances stay, ing or if you want to leave, pay the fine (about $1.25 a day everyday over). In the meantime if you really want to stay for good, keep trying to get that appointment.
