THIS STORY:

Lady Be Good was a USAAF B-24D Liberator that disappeared without a trace on its first combat mission during World War II. The plane, which was from 376th Bomb Group, was believed to have been lost—with its nine-man crew—in the Mediterranean Sea while returning to its base in Libya following a bombing raid on Naples on April 4, 1943. However, the wreck was accidentally later discovered decades later in the middle of the remote Libyan desert.

THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...

This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.

Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

My father was a B - 24 co pilot. He finished his training in Texas in April 1945, and thank god, was never sent over seas because the war was ending. He lived a full life, and passed at 89. Bless the men who never came home

Thank you for placing the penny, Ron. Such a sad story. What they went through in their last days is unimaginable. RIP Samuel Adams and the rest of the crew.

Your story telling is very compelling on all your videos and as an aviation nut, this one definitely hit the mark. Very brave men. The generation of men and women who fought in WWII were the finest.

I appreciate your videos very much. I used to like to walk through old cemeteries and read the tombstones. I'm disabled now and can't walk very far, but you make it seem almost like being there. Thank you.

This has to be one your your best shows ever, especially the end. There was not a dry eye in the room. When you have had loved ones lost in war, this hits home.

What a powerful story & it could've only be told in such a powerful way by you. Thank you for honoring not only the "faces of the forgotten" but also our men & women in arms. I love your channel.

I wondered if you had heard of the Sullivan brothers? If you are ever in the Waterloo, Ia area, it might be a good story.
The five Sullivan brothers were World War II sailors of Irish American descent who, serving together on the light cruiser USS Juneau, were all killed in action in and shortly after its sinking around November 13, 1942. So the anniversary was yesterday.

That is quite a history lesson and very tragic at that. I imagine the frustration of the family members when our government could not be bothered to locate the remains or at least put together an explanation of what happened. Good old BP! They kept pursuing! My ex husband was a tribologist for BP Amaco he loved his work and the company, he would've loved this story. Thank you Ron

Good-day! Ron, Am pacified at the recovery of the bodies, what an horrendous demise, when one is dehydrated ones' blood thickens so it ceases to flow even if veins are severed. Fascinatingly sorrowful story!!!

What a tragic and eerie story. Those poor men died out in the desert, you can only imagine how alone they must have felt. You did honor these brave souls and told us their story as only you can. I appreciate that you explain the technical issues given your aviation expertise, in a way easier to grasp. Thank you Ron for a gripping story!!👏

Such a sorrowful story. God has a plan for every man. Unfortunately, not the plan we always want. May they be blessed by the Lord and held up high.
