Where I live, we also have to pay for use of the sewer and garbage disposal services. Just another thing to consider!

Fun fact: We’re not really paying for the water, it’s actually a free commodity. We’re paying for the infrastructure to bring the water to us, like pipes, pumps, purification plants etc…

Correction most eastern Canadians call into hydro. In western canada we say electric bill. Because we don’t have a massive waterfall in western Canada that provides electricity

This is very helpful to know, I live in Australia and haven't been enjoying my showers at all for fear of being charged a lot as a result.
Now I can semi enjoy them since hot water is also a factor?

I’m not sure if it’s the same I other places but here in Australia, a lot of people who live in the country use water tanks for our water supply, so water bills aren’t an issue since we get our water from rain. If there’s a drought sometimes we do have to pay to have our tanks filled but it’s a kinda rare occurrence

In Quebec we still have a hydro bill (for electricity, heating, etc.) but we don’t pay for water🇨🇦
