I’m doing this for a rental I’m renting in. My move in date is Aug 1 but the previous tenant is leaving and shutting all utilities out of her name July 20th. My lease doesn’t begin until Aug 1 and he’s telling me I need to setup the transfer to my name for the 20 th when the previous tenant vacates…. I’m wondering why I would pay for all that time when I’m not moving into the unit until the 1st. Is this normal? Should I follow his instructions? Sounds to me like he’s trying to get me to foot the bill in between tenants. Doesn’t sound right

I just bought my first house at 22! It sounded like a stupid question, but I am so glad I came across your channel because I was so lost on where I would even find these utilities! But my realtor answered them the way you explained it and now I am feeling very confident in setting up my utilities!

Hey everyone! This is my first time setting up utilities, and I am a litle confused. My local utility company is making me pay a utility deposit for electricity, but I thought you just pay for what you use at the end of the month. In order to set up with them, I have to pay a deposit. Is billing like a flat rate and then if you go over a certain amount you start paying extra? Thanks!

Somebody can help me or give me an advice, I just bought a land and has utilities in there, but they are not updated, I can start to build a house with no set up, or I need to set up my account first of all?
