I'm more familiar with the Four Chord Song starting on the sixth, thus going vi - IV - I - V, or i - VI - III - VII in minor. Then it would be Tonic - Tonic - Tonic (or Subdominant) - Dominant, which fit perfectly into the Doo-Woop Progression.

Interesting explanation of the I V vi IV progression

Seems like “harmonic progression” would have been a more fitting title for this vid :/

Good video, but why don't you explain the important and unknown subject of harmonic rhythm and its impact on music. (what the title implies)

Honestly, the lack of elephants ruined this vid for me.

Nothing in this video has to do with Harmonic rhythm except for the opening sentence maybe

Does this all fall apart once modal mixture is introduced? Then, how could you contextually figure proper assignment of the degree being borrowed?

I would define the doo-wop changes as: I, VIm, IIm, V personally.

It might be because the rhythm is exceedingly clear and there's one hell of a forward momentum and these are common aspects of American popular music. It helps, of course, when you have the truth. Or something that's true enough.

"The Various Reasons" sounds like a horrible band name.
