What got me out of plat (and what got me out of Diamond into champ) was simply just paying attention to my teammates on the field. The lower ranked you are, the less aware your teammates will be of your position on the field, leading to double commits and triple commits even. You will spend a lot of your games just driving in circles as third man because neither of your teammates will rotate, but that’s the way you gotta play unless you want to double commit on the ball. In summary, make sure there’s always a defender back - often it will have to be you

This is honestly quality advice, I’d tell this to myself when I was in low diamond. It’s easy to get a strong clear, but if you can also put the clear on net, you’ll be surprised how many goals you can get.

But the problem with diamonds is they boom the ball hard as they can to the backwall and overcommit on attack, instead they should control the ball sometimes. so if u manage to get out of plat with this advice good luck in diamond :D

I dont get it. Everyone is saying that plat isn't that good and easy to rank up but I'm plat and everyone does flip resets, air dribbles and everything. How would I be able to beat these guys without mechanics like them?
Videos suggest the only thing you need is power shots but that's just not true imo

How many years has it been since he saw plat players play? Guys in ranked are doing air dribbles, flicks, cuts, etc. etc. Not everyone obviously.. but "just boom it away" is definitely not a viable strategy.
