Hi! Today's video is a first time reaction/analysis to Pentatonix performing their cover of "Hallelujah". 😇

Yes, I know that Avi is no longer a part of Pentatonix. This was a highly requested performance from the group.

Why do I love so much watching Anna just fall into Avi's voice in like 3 bars??
Oh, and then a beautiful, but still measured Mitchslap LOL

An amazing thing about Kevin is he can do these "primal" beats, then turn around and play a classical cello solo.

Scott was able to seamlessly take over the bass line when Avi took his verse. Showing the amazing range for both Scott and Avi.

Watching the tears fill your eyes as you listened reminded me yet again that music truly is the universal language. Despite being from countries across the world from each other, we can truly unite spiritually when we hear beautiful music. Thank you!

A wonderful Mitch-slap (the reaction people getting to hearing Mitch the 1st time). The catalog of PTX music on YouTube is very large, so lots for you to react to. From their 1st big hit here Daft Punk Medley to their latest brilliant performance of The Prayer. Along with Imagine, Amazing Grace, Bohemian Rhapsody, all their Christmas music, Aha! (live from the Star Vista in Singapore) and so many more. Plus don't miss their off-PTX work Superfruit (Mitch and Scott, often with friends), Messer (Mitch), but also solo work by Kevin.

Hi, again, Anna! Congratulations! I've watched many, dozens if not hundreds, of reactions to PTX singing this marvellous song and you are only the second reactor to pick up on the background vocals reproducing Jeff Buckley's guitar picking and Scott's "..minor fall and major lift..". 👍🏼 You cannot go wrong in choosing anything they've done...they've never disappointed me and I've been following them since shortly after SingOff. Sony (SME) protects them like gold, because they are just that, so copyright strikes are the norm. From that point of view, their "Evolution of..." series are safe choices. You might enjoy their cover of "Shallow". It's the only time Kirstin and Scott have sung TO each other, and Kevin does some cello-boxing. BTW, Angelina Jordan is using TikTok to experiment. A few of them are nearly full length covers. Her face is always in unobstructed close-up for your analysis in these raw videos. Her control of her instrument has jumped yet another level in the last year.

Thank you for the captions in English. I enjoyed your analysis. Did you notice that Scott took over the bass line when Avi sang? Recommend their Amazing Grace with their current bass, Matt.

Anna, this might be the first time ever I don't watch the video to the end and I write a comment before that. But I don't need to see more (even though I will, of course) to know, that this reaction is almost as touching as the PTX's performance itself. Tears getting into your eyes say it all. Thank you and see you in your other videos!

I'm very happy, that it finally worked!! :-) the reaction and the analysis were amazing!!! Amazing Grace and the prayer are great (but without Avi, he has left the band) with Avi I would suggest imagine or bohemian rhapsody... Have a great evening Anna!!!

Loved the analysis and comments on the singers, and the Mitch-slap was a real winner!
While it has absolutely nothing to do with the music or performance, I've always loved the way the audience reacts to this song. You can tell that they're very aware of the arrangement, and they are also amazingly (in this day and age) polite to both the performers and other audience members. There are short outbursts of applause and cheers for favorite singers, but it very quickly dies down to silence, so that everyone at the concert can enjoy the performance without interference from the noise of the audience.

I normally hate to see a beautiful woman tear up, but that was magnificent to witness.

Those tears, when Avi sings and then when Mitch comes in; that they prompt an emotional response to their singing. Scott is perfectly serviceable and Kirsty "belts" so well, and Kevin provides all the support, but they don't reach into your heart in the same way.

I really enjoy your thoughtful analysis and comments, Anna. I was never a big fan of a capella music but with groups like Home Free and Pentatonics, I have definitely changed. Watching and listening to experts such as yourself just adds to my appreciation. Thank you very much!
