Pattern on Path vs Circular Pattern

Mastering sketch constraints is the key to being able to design whatever you want

Two very useful tools in Fusion 360 are Pattern on a Path and Circular Pattern. Let's look at the difference.

In this video I go over a scenario where creating a circular pattern didn't quite give the results I was looking for so I chose to go with pattern on path instead.

* Re-uploaded to improve audio and other stuff as noted in the video.

Great tip as always Vlad. I faced the same problem a while ago and came up with the same sollution. Was very satisfying to see you use the same one sollution.

Thanks. An example of two things that would be simple—but frustrating if you did not know. Thanks again.

I was wondering why my comments disappeared (I know now; nothing personal...). That intentional overlap was a nice trick to keep the stars aligned.

I came here to tell you that you had an overlapping star as well lol. The same kind of thing happens with 3ds Max when copying etc With it if you want 10 copies you use 9 instead, as the original one is counted already. Can be confusing sometimes.

Olá Vladmir, that's a great video... Greetings from Brazil... I have a question but from another subject... I've been trying for a lot g time to get a reliable surface from a STL file, so I can design something that can fit on a scanned part... Do you have any idea to solve it?
