Mutants in the Marvel universe can be considered a different species from ordinary humans, a species apart from human evolution. All thanks to the X gene that manifests in these beings. Generating mutants different from each other, and with different power levels among them.

Their powers were so varied and different that it was necessary to classify these mutants into different levels: the mutant levels: Omega, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon.

1. Mutant classes are not a direct level of abilities being powerful in terms of combat, but rather in terms of how far the ability can go. Omega means no definable upper limit not just OMEGA BEAT ALPHA.
2. Forge is a Alpha mutant not Gamma
3. Not all Alphas pass as humans and the fact betas can be alphas discredit this.
4. Storm is Omega
5. Alphas can beat Omegas, Omega just means they have wayy more reach in the ability and most a natural fast growth in power. But yes most omegas are at minimum planetary therats
6. You can have multiple Omegas of the same ability
7. Angel turned into a very powerful Beta after becoming a horseman w multiple mutations
8. Gambit is Alpha

I just love how mutants with "small" powers later evolve and become total powerhouses, when the writers explore and evolve their powers beyond what we first understood about them. When something seemingly easy and maybe not even useful becomes extremely useful because it's used in ways we just didn't think about. That's a true charm about those comics.
