Fun fact: more people were executed in the single year of the French Revolution's Reign of Terror than in the three centuries of the Inquisition. At least twice as many.

IP: "That's an interesting argument, Billy. Why don't you back it up with a source?"
Billy Carson: "My source is I made it the f*** up!"

Even then, people preferred to be judged by the Holy Inquisition rather than by a civil court because they were harsher.

Where is he getting this number? Even the most insane anti-Catholic quotes I've seen have never gotten remotely close to that number and that includes people who were just straight up lying.

Fun fact: the church was not as involved with the Spanish Inquisition as most people believe. It was almost entirely ran by the Spanish monarchy and at least half of the involvement the church did have was basically the pope writing letters to be less harsh.

Another fun fact: the Spanish Inquisition didn’t actually kill anyone, they didn’t have the authority. Everyone executed was tried by a judge

I love how people say “Well if a Christian does this then I guess Jesus told them to!” (A pastor committed a mass shooting, which is objectively bad) And also say “Wow, I thought Jesus told you to be loving, and you’re not doing that right now” (We told them their sin was bad, which is a loving thing)

The inquisition unalived about 2000 people max over the course of 200 years. That's literally less murder rate than Chicago has in a year.

The secular courts handed out the sentences, not the church itself. People conveniently ignore that part

"killed, tortured, and murdered"

Bro really used two synonyms like they don't mean the same thing.

People never look for answers and seek for truth. They lie, and lead people astray with their lies, including themselves. I pray for everyone that sees things like this(not you, what you’re reacting to) and find God. AMEN!!!

The Spanish Inquisition never actually killed anyone, nor did they sentence anyone to death. Infact, it was not uncommon that the inquisitor plead with the secular power to spare the life of the guilty subject. The Spanish Court forbade the inquisitors to do any harm to the people they investigated. The punishments were always dished out by the secular authorities.

Yeah… Turns out scare tactics only work when there are enough people alive afterwards to scare.

Billy Carson's framing of history is as unexpected as the Spanish Inquisition.
