There was a Gadgil Report. It was stated in the report to safeguard our western ghat. But Kerala Govt ignored the report and did not take any action. Every year this is happening. Since 2018 every year there were one or two incidents.

I am from Wayanad, this Meppadi region is one of the main tourist attractions in Kerala and those hills are mainly occupied by resort mafias, Madhav gadgill predicted this on 2014 and Warned Government to prevent building houses, Resorts and farming at this area but the natives were against him especially Christian associations for saving their resort mafias and estate owners now look, the innocent people lost everything
