Kerala landslides: At least 93 killed, rescue operation underway by Indian Air Force helicopters

At least 93 killed, many trapped after landslides hit India’s Kerala
in the Chooralmala area of Wayanad where a landslide occurred earlier today claiming the lives of over 93 people. On the resuce operation at the Wayanad landslide site, Defence PRO Sudha S. Namboothiri says, "...Around 130 soldiers are moving ahead towards Wayanad. Most of them will be airlifted by Indian Air Force aircraft and the rest will be proceeding on the road...Defence Security Corps Centre Kannur with its 200 soldiers have already gone there and the Territorial Army 122 infantry battalion Madras, they are also there...It seems ward number ten is in a really bad shape and they have been doing their best..."

Before the arrival of IAF local people and fire force started rescue operations. The initiative of locals must be congratulated which is coming out of pure love.

Big salute to IAF, landing copter in such a dangerous

IAF is doing a great job but due to the weather, the Choppers couldn't make it upto Wayanad till this evening. But the way the system including the local people, Kerala police, Fire and rescue team and the medias along with the Govt machineries working hard in the site from the moment it happened.
Especially the news channels like Media one, 24 news and reporter TV and few others, they automatically switch to their control room mode.
Hope our govts will do something to tackle such disaster in the future also.

After 1 month they will ask 1000 crores as Rescue fees for using Helicopters.
