I was 10 when this piece of magnificence hit the airwaves, summer of 72. It's been over 50 yrs and I still get goosebumps when I hear it. It was the PERFECT time to release it because it was in the middle of summer and this song has such a warm summer feeling to it - especially in the bridge of the song where a "flanging" recording technique was used. GREAT song

The first time I heard this song was in 1974. I was 4yrs old then and dug it. Didn't understand what they were singing at the time, because I had a child's mind then, but the music spoke to me. This song still speaks to me today, the way it did way back in my past. It passed a test not many groups pass. Which is the, "Stands the test of time.", test. Bravo to the Doobie Brothers!

Having an offer I couldn't refuse, a friends brother that I grew up knowing very well since the early 1980's offered me a ticket to see The Doobie Brothers-"Brotherhood Tour" concert back in 1991 at the Pacific Colosseum, in Vancouver, B.C Canada. Now who in their right mind would pass that up. The Doobie Brothers band was absolutely flawless and played an amazing set of all their hits. Such a fantastic show for such an incredible group of talented artists/musicians, who have had so many line up changes over the bands arduous journey. They far exceeded my thoughts days before the show started and were outright one of the best concerts I've had the pleasure of attending. Certainly a concert for those who like that laid back old time Rock music with a big mix of a southern hospitality style though the band was from San Jose, California, that puts it all together. Just an all around good time for the young at heart who love music to the older generation who grew up listening to the Doobie Brothers like I have, to the parents who were right into this band, and the die hard fans of the beginning of the legendary band itself. These men who make up the band will entertain everyone with their guitar riffs, drumming, keyboard, bass playing, and who could forget some incredible saxophone by Cornelius Bumpus, wow. A band whose journey has their energetic sounds etched in my brain forever. This band, The Doobie Brothers is a must see and hear for anyone that enjoys playing music, listens to music, is a fan of The Doobie Brothers and loves their music. I highly recommend it, go see a concert you'll never forget.
