What's up with all the dislikes guys? This new PS4 is amazing... and I tell you. It is much better than the older models! I've played with both the CUH-1100 and the 1200 and the 1200 is much more efficient while playing games... There's no need to upgrade if you have a older PS4 model! So no need to be a hater!

CUH-1200 is basically the Slim version inside the launch model minus the 16 nm APU chip. CUH-1200 still has the original 28 nanometer chip like CUH-1000 and CUH-1100 models. This was the last PS4 revision before Slim version.

So... the older model has touch sensitive buttons, a beautiful glossy cover, a screw that allows you to get stuck discs out easily, and they put the older model in more premium packaging. I'd say the older model is a more premium machine, and the newer model is a cheaper variant, with less noise and less power consumption (which are certainly nice also). Personally, I'd still take the older model - I figure they put higher quality parts into the launch model, in order to keep the failure rate impressively low at launch, and also to give a positive impression of the premium build quality of the PS4 in general. In addition, if we look at the PS3 generation, from an industrial design standpoint (barring internals) the original PS3 models were beautifully made, with silver trims, capacitive buttons, rotating PS logo, high gloss piano black, embossed logo design etc.

I got this on Christmas 2015 1TB version with Star Wars Battlefront bundle. Now I am a PC player and rarely use PS4 but it still works perfectly after 7 years, I never had any issues with it.

Internal wise, yes, is an improvement.. As far a statics goes.. This is PS3 all over again. I like the gloss and the touch sensitive buttons of the first gen, made it look more high-tech, more premium..
The glossy PS4 looked better just like the first gen PS3.. And like the second gen PS3 that looked a run down version of the PS3 even thought it was way better, so does this PS4.. Blah!!!!
Microsoft does it better.. First 360 looked alright, but the second generation made the first one look like crap. Now that's something worth upgrading..

It’s quieter, doesn’t heat unlike the glossy version. Hardware itself. Only downside is the eject screw is no longer an option. Other than that it’s better.

I just got this one today on Craigslist for 220$ here in cleveland it came with watch dogs . I gave my 7 year old daughter my old glossy one. and so far I like it.

This is the definitive PS4 for me, retains the iconic eraser look but improves on it with physical buttons and a full matte finish.

Got the exact same PS4 as in the video back in June 2017 (a bit late I know) as my birthday and my university graduation gift 🎁 still have it for 6 years now playing adventure games such as Final Fantasy 15, Uncharted 4, Assassins Creed Odyssey.

I kinda like the gloss cover though. Besides that everything else seems great. Not worth the money to upgrade though.
