This very enlightening conversation took place between housing expert and author of Gaffs: Why no one can buy a house, and what we can do about it and Karen Feeney, Head of Client Services at Galway Simon Community about Ireland's housing policy and crisis, at Kennys Bookshop (October 2022).

With housing costs in Ireland the highest in the EU, the property ladder has been kicked from under thousands. So how did we get here … and how do we break the cycle? Rory's new book, Gaffs, looks at Ireland’s housing policy and how it is affecting a new generation who are finding themselves locked out of the housing market, and what we should do about it.

Karen Feeney is the Head of Client Services at Galway Simon Community. Galway Simon are a leading provider of homeless and homelessness prevention services in the region. They support a person’s right to security, dignity and wellbeing in their own home and are relentlessly committed to finding answers to the questions faced by real people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. They believe that early intervention is the most effective means of reducing the trauma and cost associated with homelessness.

Your chatting about homes, homeless, housing crisis, but, isn't it ironic, not one person in homeless hubs, aren't seen.
