Looks like they uploaded a clip from the history channel by mistake.

I wish people would stop eating them. They don't offer much flavor but keeping them alive is much better.

I think the more we research the oceans the more we'll realize just how "alien" our oceans truly are.

Very intelligent animals. Always saddens me when I see them being consumed by people, but such is life. We had several tanks at a zoo I worked at. We kept other small sea creatures on the other side of the room too. Quite often we would find empty clam and oyster shells in the other tank like they were eaten but the lid was still on the tank. It was baffling. Eventually we set up a camera and found that 1 octopus was responsible in the most sinister way. He would lift the lid of his tank, crawl across the benches, down on the floor, up another bench to the oyster tank. He then opened their lid just enough to squeeze in and eat the oysters in their own tank. Then he climbed out, closed the lid, crawled back to his tank and closed the lid again. I wish I could get my hands on that footage. For behavioural enrichment we gave them crabs sealed in jars which they would open by twisting the lids off. I don’t know if there are smarter animals.

I saw a giant squid at the Seattle Aquarium. I swear it could see in my soul. Just like I feel about Horses. A deep understanding with no words.

Squid and cuttlefish are pretty strange also.

I love them! I've always been fascinated with there intelligence and ability to change everything about them selves. They even are very curious and seem friendly to humans. I always wanted to study them but things got tough. Ah well, next lifetime, lol! ☺🐙

It's a bizarre genome because it's a genome from the precambrian era that has remained unchanged for hundreds of billions of years.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say "animals in the class cephlapoda are unlike anything else at the aquarium"?
Cuttle fish and squid have very similar adaptations.
Blue blood also isn't that rare, it's a copper based oxygen transport instead of iron based. Snails and other mulosks share this as well as horseshoe crabs
