In this documentary, we'll explore the history of this iconic feature and find out why it's been such a puzzle for scientists for centuries.

Jupiter's Great Red Spot is one of the most mysterious objects in the solar system. Although it's been visible to humans for over 150 years, scientists have been unable to explain its origins or why it has been changing over time. In this documentary, we'll take a close look at the history and evolution of this enigmatic spot and explore all the possible explanations for its strangeness.

Meanwhile on Twitter: "Jupiter's Great Red Spot is diminishing due to Earth's climate change"

Everything about Jupiter and its moons is just mind blowing. and our understanding of her and her moons is still in its infancy.

That would be a surprising development to learn that Jupiter began as an asteroid or cometary-type body, before essentially collecting all the dust and materials needed to form itself into a gas giant. Would that preclude it from being what has been quasi-popular theory I tend to find intriguing, a failed second sun which never fully formed? On the other hand, who’s to say that our actual sun couldn’t have begun similarly as an asteroid collecting just the right amount of gasses and materials needed to ignite into a burning star?

Fascinating video, and fantastic channel! Please keep making more videos - the information, the way it's presented, and especially the narrator are superb! Thank you!

This is fascinating. So it’s almost like Jupiter is a sort of father to Earth, in a way.

Gives new meaning to Zeus slaying the Titans, if you view Zeus as Jupiter.

The GRS is really an eye and its smaller because the eye is in process of blinking or winking, but is so big it takes a long time opening and closing.

I think it's so funny that some people think that they know so much about space, the stars. And such, even millions of light years out, but don't even understand our own solar system.

So it's safe to say Jupiter's arrival pushed Earth to its present location, the habitable zone.

Cool video. Man, I just want to believe we'll get incredibly lucky and have some tech boom in my lifetime where we can explore our planets more in depth, including Pluto. I want to bend space and explore!

as long as these ideas remain theories that can be updated as our technology advances and our observations become more precise understanding grows, like our view of the Universe, Ptolemaic Crystal Spheres no longer hold the structure of the Universe and even our Capernicus/Newton ideas are in need of fine tuning. Keep learning

I haven't watched but a minute at this point in time, but from what I can gather is that no one seems to have known anything when I was growing up... and now that I'm a 31 year old man.... we are still coming up with new crap, its insane how much we don't know

🤔The heck with all the other planets that do not have life forms, we need to be more concerned with the planet Earth of which we exist in.
Humanity is destroying Earth because of greed and selfishness.

Why the hell does the thumbnail look like Jupiter is just one big eye with an Iris looking at us!? 😂😂

My idea so I get to name it! Voyager 1 is now in interstellar time or "Mikey's Time." "V-ger's" message is sped up now that it's outside our suns time bubble or "Terran Time."  It will be faster still when "V-ger" sends a message from beyond the Milky Way's time bubble. (That name is still up for grabs.) Then there's Outside the Local Group time bubble, so on and so on until we get to the, "True Interstellar Time Standard."  Now that "V-ger" is in interstellar space, it's also in the Milky Way's STANDARD, faster moving, interstellar time or "Mikey's Time."  This can be proven by turning off everything except its clock and transmitter.  Have "V-ger" read time for as long as possible.  They WILL show the flow of time speeds up the further away you get from any celestial bodies.  Until you reach the time standard.
•Our sun's time bubble: "Terran Time" we know and have measured.
•Milky Way's time bubble or "Mikey's Time." The rate/flow of TIME outside any influence but within the Milky Way: We just got there and are still figuring. Wild guess I'd say time will increase in speed, now and until V-ger is outside the Ort cloud .007-.07% faster, maybe. Just for reference.
•Local Group's time bubble or the rate/flow of time outside of any influence but within the Local Group: Name still open and unknown. Wild guess .08% to a couple seconds faster, maybe. Used just for reference.
•Outside any influence in the, "True Interstellar Time Standard, " or...;-P Name NOT up for grabs BUT just begging to be measured. The rate/flow of time is fastest here. (Time flows fastest here so it's best to have your motor boat.) ;-P
A minute is a minute in all. It's the rate/flow I'm talking about.
The Milky Way's Interstellar Time Standard will be known as, "Mikey's Time."
Pass it on, please and thank you.
