That is provided the holding midfielder is capable of creating space to make the pass to the fullback. Otherwise if the opposition were to pressure and steal the ball from the holding midfielder, they'll have a numerical advantage in a dangerous position.

Since the ball is passed by the CB to the holding midfielder which draws in the opponents to the HM so as to press him .... he (HM) can pass it back quick to the CB who can then make a fast switch to the forwards as well (good counter).

this is the right approach to build up but you need to have the right players in the holding midfield spaces because that is a very congested area. if you dont have a proper holding midfielder it could be disasterous because you are loosing the ball in an area of higher xG for the opposition.

And to add a layer to this play, if tje CDM is marked he can open the space for the 8/10 to make the play

You can play it long but you have to be calm and when the opposition Starts pressing the full back they can switch over to the winger quickly.

What if you do a run up and instead of a long ball, you short pass it to the nearest teammates?
Won't that completely caught the opposition off guard?
