A She-Hulk writer misrepresented one of his pay checks to gain support. He made it look like he was payed below $400 for the episode he wrote. It was actually more like the very low royalties he got afterwards (because the show flopped).

I think there’s a middle ground here. Some writers who honestly put their heart and soul into their work only for it to be screwed over by the decisions of the higher-ups need raises. Meanwhile people who do it just because it’s a job or even worse, they behave like certain localizers and are just lazy/hateful with what they write need fired.

I think people see union or strike and immediately think of people fighting for the working class, or improving safety standards. This really just seems like greedy people doing a pretty bad job on average and then demanding that they be paid more because they dont want to live like the commoners. Remember, they choose to live in places like LA and then dont understand why rent is so high

They messed everything up with Netflix Bebop, creating two Netflix exclusive characters that made everything worse with each scene they were in. One was a creepy old lady that was coming on to every guy within sight, and the other being a cannibal who likes to eat men's junk. Not to mention making Mao, Lin, and Shin women and busting Mao down in rank when originally he was one of the bosses, but then, Julia was one of the bosses too, but they took that from her too for the Netflix wrecking ball. I could honestly rant about Netflix Bebop all day and still not run out of beef with the choices made.

I think of it as a funny meme but I know some people really think that way which I disagree with. Since almost all entertainment has writers behind it, I value them greatly. Even if a lot of high profile ones make the rest look bad. Writer's are like a sound track. When its good, most don't notice. When it's bad, it's had to miss.

Yes, it was a generalized statement that didn't truly reflect the work of all writers _(some good writing actually does exist out there.)_ but I think they were just memeing. A big part of humor is hyperbole after all and, honestly, people took this way more seriously than they should have.
