Trump's NHS tweet causes a stir - BBC News

US President Donald Trump caused a stir on Twitter when he said the NHS was "going broke and not working".
Here's the story.

One of my relatives wouldn't be here without the NHS, I've had operations done on the NHS and even my braces when I was 12. Without it my family with the amount of problems we have would be tens or even hundreds of thousands of pounds in debt. The NHS saves millions of lives and I'm so glad we have it.

I’m from the uk and have sadly had to have 35 operations because of a genetic condition which makes my knee dislocate multiple times a day, plus the pain is so bad that I pass out! When it comes to the hospitals in Oxford (The John Radcliffe and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre) and the Drs and nurses they have been incredible. But yes with funding being cut it is causing a LOT of issues. But I would like to say that the majority of Dr’s and nurses I’ve met during times in hospital, they have always been so caring, understanding, thoughtful etc. It’s just the funding, the same with the army, police and fire fighters funding.

When you have to pay for medical care you will realise how lucky you are with the NHS.
Thousands die in America annually because they pay throw the nose for everything. You don't pay, you don't get.
NHS is a brilliant system even with its warts.

Has he seen our Budget? The Conservatives cut all expenses going to Public services being Police, Fire or Healthcare. All of these cuts are meant to pay the National Debt, fair enough, yet the National Debt is now at 1.9Trillion whereas before the Tories were elected it was only at 1Trillion (nationaldebtclock.co.uk/). So it's not going to the National Debt at all.

Also, why is he complaining about OUR Countries NHS? At least we have a Health Plan, without the NHS people with repeat prescriptions will be forced to pay half of their wages towards Medication, and pay for a HealthPlan.

Trump is right. The NHS hospitals felt like being in the 3rd world. My boyfriend would still be alive if he had gone to the hospital somewhere else. I spent months with him in NHS hospitals and hospices. It was truly shocking. Overcrowding, patient neglect, broken equipment, obvious medical errors, deadly delays, poor quality food.
Some staff could barely speak English and were rude. Many had no empathy or cultural connection to relate to patients or their families. It just seemed like the cheapest staff they could find. There were a few, young English nurses and doctors who were amazing and tried their best under horrible conditions. But why would anyone chose to work in those conditions once they had more experience?  
Overall my biggest regret is that I didn't bring him with me to Amsterdam or even to America. Maybe he would have had to declare bankruptcy or do crowd-funding, but he would be alive.

Healthcare for everyone!! Once you read the fine print you realize thats after you wait two weeks to get a doctors appointment, another month to realize that whatever they gave you doesnt work and get another appointment, 6 months then to see a specialist and another unlimited amount of time to actually get something done about your problem if they even want to be bothered.
