Honda Prelude

Honda has announced the new hybrid electric Prelude will arrive in Europe in the early part of 2026 and will debut innovative Honda S+ Shift technology to further enhance the ‘joy of driving’ offered by the brand’s latest sports coupe.

The Honda S+ Shift will simulate the sound and feel of quick automatic gear changes – helping to deliver the model’s perfect balance of exhilarating driving pleasure to a new generation of Prelude drivers.

I'm on my 3rd Honda, the first being an 88 Prelude Si when I was in college. One of the best and most reliable cars I've ever owned. I still miss it sometimes.

As a prelude fan, I truly hope that they might put a manual gearbox.

I'm honestly a fan of how newer Hondas look. There more simple and not trying to be bold or anything. It's like the 90s but more modern. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the new prelude or not yet but definitely the newer civic

Simulated shifts with amplified/augmented engine and exhaust sound. Sounds about right for a modern day "sport coupe". This will sell fewer units than the current Acura Integra. Bringing out a coupe in a market that doesn't want coupes is a bold choice. Nostalgia buffs will look at it, but most of the people that once owned Preludes are at a point in their life where they would be happier if Honda made a Type R Odyssey, not a new Prelude.

Give it awd and more than 300hp to make up for the weight of the twin-electric motors. And a possible manual option and you got yourself plenty of sales
