Dog thefts soar by 170% during lockdown

According to the charity DogLost, an estimated 96 dogs were stolen in the first two months of this year - a sharp increase on in the same period last year.

Some breeds can fetch thousands of pounds, as Kiran Moodley reports.

If someone steels a dog, it implies it's easy to sell them on and the buyers don't care (or don't pay attention to) where they come from. Perhaps it's time to look at dog licences again. The laissez-faire free for all doesn't appear to be working.

You will be aware that in America 2 men shot Lady GaGa’s dog walker & grabbed her 2 dogs. As of 2/26 he was in critical condition. I pray he will live. No one mentioned the trauma done to these dogs that get taken. You can count on the dogs being mistreated. They are like little children, terrified, thinking they will be killed, never to see their parents again who love them. ANIMALS MUST HAVE CIVIL RIGHTS. THEY ARE NOT MERE PROPERTY LIKE A BIKE OR LAPTOP!!!

I read long ago somewhere that in the middle ages people thought animals don't have consciousness (soul) but are mindless and mechanical. (It was Rene Descartes i think)
Looks like our minds 500 years later aren't vary far away...

Good news for all the dog thiefs: don't risk jail in the UK! The Eastern Europe is full of stray dogs that no one wants! Take them from there! They are free, and you don't even break the law by taking them. You can even charge the locals to take them, too.
