Update: I found that using EMA bands for following the trend on higher tf then zoom in to lower tf and find entries with divergence as price reverses away from the bands to work really well.

To make this strategy even better, I recommend using engulfing candles too as it shows that bullish momentum is confirmed after the bullish divergence from the MACD (use an indicator that shows bullish/bearish engulfing).

Thanks for one of the best MACD videos I've ever seen. Been using MACD for years, but I learned new concepts here, especially in the advanced strategy session. I'm getting to where all I need now is MACD and RSI, and i use 3 exponential moving averages: 8, 20 and 50.
When I get a good MACD bull-x, RSI rises above 70, and the 8ema crossed above the 20, that's usually the start of a good run.
I calculate the % from my long entry down to the last swing-low, and set a trailing stop to that %. So far, so good.
That part about going to a lower time frame to look for a divergence on the histogram is the bomb! Thanks again.
