The Porsche 911 is Something Special

The name Jeff Zwart resonates with loyal Porsche 911 enthusiasts on a personal level. If you're not familiar with his name, you've certainly been enjoying his work, because Jeff has been one of the key creative minds behind Porsche's advertising campaigns for over 20 years. He has filmed and photographed everything from motorsports to the latest production models, coffee table books, posters, and art pieces.

He began his love affair with the 911 as a teenager learning to drive in his Father's early Porsche 901. Today he's known for setting and breaking records racing 911s through the clouds at Pikes Peak. He refers to the 911 as "...a car that ups your game."

I was never a 911 fan as a kid, or a young adult. I always wanted a 928 though, and I've run one for a decade. Over the years of 928 ownership, my appreciation of 911s grew and grew. Today I love all 911s, and have a 69T, a 69S and a supercharged '89 race car.

Only when you learn to appreciate the small size, light weight, incredible strength, amazing every-day usability and the amazing quality of the parts do you truly come to love the 911. Every model, every year, every day, the 911 delivers!

My first 911 is a 997 Turbo 5 years ago, at the time I didn't even know how to drive a manual car (knew I've always wanted a stick) to pick it up from the dry docks I stalled it almost 10 times to get it home. To this day, I absolutely still love the car and I will never ever let it go. When I have kids, I will tell the stories of how my Porsche will still remain with me all those years. I watch these videos and I tell myself, thats going to be me telling these stories, but to my kids.

Cut my high speed driving teeth in a modified 3.0 liter '73 Targa my friend had 25 years ago.  That car was magical; it literally flew.  160 MPH with the top off!!   He still owns it.

I have had the opposite experience than you. I am a lifelong 911 fan. I have been fortunate to own a few in my life. Recently I have become a big fan of the 928. During the Porsche parade, I was able to look at a few close up. Hopefully one day, there will a 928 in my garage. Absolutely beautiful cars.

One of my Porsches is a 911 993. It is a spectacular car. Looking at the design is like looking at the Mona Lisa. Such eye appeal. And it drives like nothing else on the road. Fun to drive it here in Vermont because we have no straight, flat roads.
