Flooding from the historic storms that swept across the United States this year left both houses and cars underwater. One of those vehicles was caught up during Hurricane Ida in a South Orange, New Jersey, parking lot in September, and is now filled with smelly mold. But experts warn after every major flood, thousands of vehicles like this one are cleaned up and resold to unsuspecting buyers. Joyce Darden, 80, says it happened to her used car, which she bought from Enterprise Car Sales for $17,000.

They'll buy it back and resell it again.

She has the right to actually sue them for that. Got evidence and everything with her at all times.

She’d better get a full refund, be reimbursed or sue them.

This should be considered a fraud and guilty should be punished.

*I bet they offered to buy it back at 50% less than what she paid for it. This is disgusting. I'd sue them.*

I feel so bad for her, poor lady. Imagine selling a car like that to someone that could be the same age as your grandma, wow.

It’s sick that humans care so much more about profits than their fellow humans. Selling them ruined cars. That should be a fraud crime.

Enterprise said “no sign of flood damage” that sounds very hard to believe. Horrible, I hope that poor women gets a new car.

I feel so bad for her, She should have never been sold that car.

There should be a law against this. Enterprise CLEARLY didn't do a thorough check if some random tester could spot that it was a water damaged vehicle within the span of an Inside Editon clip. We need new laws that hold companies and used car salesmen liable, just the fact that TOXIC mold could be a side effect is enough to warrant this.

Enterprise should be investigated and should be ashamed.

This happened to my neighbor, when his son got extremely sick from mold in his car that he bought last year. So sick that he was hospitalized for 4 months. His family sued for $133, 480.00 for hospital bills and pain and suffering. They won their case in court. I hope the son recovers.

I hope she sues Enterprise. Let them buy that death trap back AND pay her for tricking her, pain, suffering, inconvenience & all that jazz.

ALWAYS pull out the seatbelts as far as they can go. If you notice any dirt or sand, it's a flood car. Might help you later.

Find a lawyer and file a lawsuit against Enterprise! They have to give you a new car and compensate you for your health! This should have never happened to anyone - unacceptable.
