Beating Doopliss & Partners with Counter Statuses

Here's my attempt at making TTYD's Chapter 4 boss a tad more interesting...

The goal is to defeat Doopliss & Partners with counter statuses (Electrified or Payback). Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshi are all Super Rank. Mario is Level 4 (10/5/12). No Superguards.

Point Swap showing off its versatility, very nice. I don't think I knew offhand that Doopliss's hammer could be countered by Electric status.

From the thumbnail I was wondering if they'd do their KO animation immediately after the counter and Mario would swap them from there, because it at least does that with Rawk Hawk where he does his KO animation right in front of you if you defeat him with a counter. But no, they walk all the way back and only then collapse. TIL.

Also TIL using Peekaboo gets around not being able to Tattle the partner enemies for their HP.

I'm not sure if this was intended or not, but seeing as how payback doesn't affect Mario's hammer and zap does may seem to imply that they followed the rule that the hammer isn't a direct attack, so it does nothing, but electricity seems to be extremely unstable that poking it with a stick could send a serious shock right back to Mario. Genius.

Mario was insulted by the fact that his partners fell for such an obvious trick. (Doopliss in Mario form has different eyes and even a different stance)
So, he decided "They're-a fools." He decided to knock 'em out to teach them a lesson.

Koop, have you ever looked into TAS? Your exebition videos like this are great, and TAS is a good tool to make things just like it without the risk of things like that boo in the audience nearly screwing it up. (Close call on that, by the way!)

Every time I play chapter 4 I make sure to beat the everloving shit out of all my partners, because those assholes couldn’t tell that Doopliss stole Mario’s form. I know it’s dumb, but I find it fun.
