FFXIV: How to Meld Materia to Your Gear - Tutorial

Hello friends, there's another way to meld materia not mentionned in this vid. When you reach level 19 ( any class or job ) go to Thanalan and speak to Swynbroes ( X: 23.9 Y: 13.7 ) who's a quest giver for " Forging the Spirit " ( which will allow you to extract materia from your gears ). Do the quest. Then do the next chain quest which is "Walking the spirit" which will then allow you to meld materia into your own gears. Optionaly, at level 25, you can also do the quest "Melding Materia Muchly" which will then allow you to have "Advance Materia melding II" ability.

This might be a dumb question.. But how do you put material in ilvl500+. I don't see no way to lv it up to do so. Tells me I cant.

So, what do i do If i am level 27 and next to a Materia Melder, but all they do is talk....? Why can no one answer
