When me and my 2 brothers played rugby, or league together we would argue over who got to catch bombs, we watched the aussie rules guys and started really leaping to defuse bombs. We took it as a real point of pride that if you got smashed coming down, that was expected so, harder the better. That was literally our attitude and when we played rep rugby, Maori rugby, we had a rule we would never kick the ball, ever, lol. I'm stunned to see modern players avoid bombs, it was always a great feeling to call, "mine" nice n clear, before my bros, I'd look at nothing but the ball, time it, go up, get it, mostly, lol, come down, await impact, get nailed, hold on, etc. Ahhh it was great fun. The spirit in those amateur games on and off the field, was amazing. Just reminiscing a bit really. 🙂

On behalf of manly I think that we actually played decent considering that we have heaps of injuries
