I'd like to see a direct example of recording another MIDI groovebox with Push 3. Which I'd like to do to transfer stems of my songs from other gear,
and alternately to sync with an external multitrack (Tascam 12) which sends MIDI timing out

Thanks I was stuck wondering how to set a midi out channel on a standard midi track, and then when you said external instrument the penny dropped

To record automation on cut off of the external device, the USB MIDI and the MIDI input from the external device is necessary and it is not an automation wlil be recorded only with the TRS MIDI out connection.

Ableton, can you confirm whether External MIDI Clock Sync is working yet on the Push 3? I just tried, was not able to get clock or transport sync from external devices. I saw that this was a known missing feature, but that was several months ago. Can't get External USB Sync to work either. Thank you!

Can PUSH3 copy automation data TOGETHER with the note data now? That's SO MUCH needed for this. In Push 2, copying the note only copied the note data not the automation it had.

incredible but i can't find out how to simply copy multiple step/notes in the MIDI clip edit mode push 3 standalone?
once selected with the jogweel you can delete them, change position, nudge, change pitch, velocity, vel range and probability but not simply copy and past them in another position?
for now the only way i found to copy/past a note is pressing/hold "duplicate" and select one note (not a groupe because if you do so you directly paste them) and past it by selecting another place. i can also copy/past a page but select few notes and copy past... no way?

Can a track be setup with an external synth so that I can both trigger the synth with the push 3 pads and also send midi by playing the external synth’s keyboard?

In order to record automation from external synths when using midi cables, does Push have to be receiving midi as well as sending it? I’m assuming midi cables need to be connected to in and out on both Push and the external instrument?
