The first time I had a Chicago dog I thought I was going to hate it.
I loved it and ended up grabbing another one a couple of days later. It seems weird but it just works.

Tucsonan here. I'm really glad to see you get the Sonoran dog right. I've seen other YouTubers do tier lists like this but they didn't use Bolillo Rolls and it just isn't the same.

For the dirty water dog you also need to use a very specific dog. It’s the Sabrett 11/lb natural casing. It’s a very thin dog with lots of spices and great snap, because of its size. It makes a huge difference

It’s actually Sonoran, like the Sonoran desert. But big facts, live in the Tucson area, and some places have amazing sonoran dogs, and other places can’t quite hit the mark. Only ben to Güero Canelo’s once, but I think I got a torta(imagine a sloppy joe, but mexican, with carne asada, salsa, etc.)or Carne Asada fries(literally french fries topped with a bunch of carne asada, cheese, guac and sour cream) which are both super common at most genuine mexican food places down here. I just love Mexican food bro

I live in the UK and remember the first time I tried a Chicago style dog. It was in London and the hotdog stand called it the "dragged through the yard and back dog" so I tried it and easily became my favourite hot dog 👌 10/10

the skyline dog usually has mustard and onion on it as well as the fresh grated cheese/chili. but its also that they use the mini hot dogs and not the long 6 inch ones here.

I grew up in Michigan. And, one thing we used to do at home was, slightly split or score the hotdog. Then put in some diced onion and american cheese, for the cheese lovers, in the slit. wrap it in a croissant. Place in a greased baking pan. Then top with Coney sauce and bake in the oven. OMG, Amazing! I need to make it for my friends down here in texas and see their reaction.

I got my own recipe of a hot dog....
The Sausage is called "Frankfurter" ...muricans maybe know them, they are partly made from Beef while Wieners are made only from Pork. You heat it up in hot steam for some hours ( alternatively, you can heat it up in salt water on low heat)
Then you fry some Bacon till its crisp. You fry some Onion rings, then you take some standard white bread hot dog buns, you put some butter on it and fry them for some seconds in a really really hot pan (best is to use the same pan you fried your onions and bacon in) till you got a thnin crust. Then you asemble it with some processed cheese and on top you put some german mustard and a sweet ketchup.

You literally nailed the reason the Chicago Dog reigns supreme. It is the single most BALANCED sandwich you will ever find. The flavors don’t blend into a mush but rather remain distinct. In every bite, the highlights of each ingredient builds on the highlight of all the others, you can even pick out the nuttiness of the poppyseed. This is a culinary masterpiece that stimulates every one of the five senses. It’s a beautiful SIGHT, the SOUND of the Vienna Dog as you bite into it, the TOUCH of the soft warm bun with the poppyseeds rolling off as you handle it, the SMELL of the juicy rich meat oils and seasonings mixed with the celery salt and, last but not least, the balanced TASTE of perfection.
BTW my vote for Best Chicago Dog, has been (for 75 years) and always will be…..SUPERDAWG on Milwaukee Avenue.

Michigander here, we actually have a second style of coney dog popular around the Flint area that uses a dry seasoned beef instead of the chili sauce. I think its a better version

Sonoran* loved the video Chicago dogs are my favorite but Sonorans are number 2 after having it at Big Star in Wicker when it was on their menu several years back.

Also you could argue that Chicago has two dogs the classic dragged through the garden dog everyone knows and the depression dog like at Gene & Jude’s, both equally delicious
