I’m heavily vested in the Apple ecosystem for many years. The Ultra fits into this system better than you think. I miss airdrop but honestly, OneDrive gets me daily between my MBA M1, Surface Pro 8 and my Samsung Ultra. It’s not like the old days when you were hostage to one system.

Honestly, for me, the notch is a non issue. I think most of those who complain are not using the Ultra and many comments I've seen are simply piggybacks off other reviewers. 99% of the time I truly don't notice or forget it's even there. When watching content, because of the aspect ratio, the notch isn't visible due to the black bars. But even day to day use, my brain doesn't even register it. Keyboard-wise, like you, I love it; my only (weird) issue with it is the language select button being so close to the spacebar - I hit it more often than I'd like (ha, just did it now actually) and have to cycle back thru the languages I have set up. This is an amazing tablet...

7:36 just wanted to let you know that samsung used the snapdragon 865+ on the tab s7 models because they came out in August of 2020, the 888 was not out yet

It almost felt like coming home after I got my S8 ultra. I'm a digital art hobbyist, and going pro. My first tablet was the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Back then, I remember others being confused as to who could want such a large tablet. (Funny how far things have come since then, with the variety of tablet form factors out there now.) From that, I'd moved on to an Acer Windows tablet which I had to use my wacom intuos pro with, because the Acer tablet's pen was garbage.

Eventually, I did move on to an ipad with 1st gen apple pencil. It was alright, but the noisy taps from the non-laminated screen bothered me. Not enough to really move on, but I did start coming up against its RAM limitations. So, naturally, from that point I moved on to the iPad Air 10.2 inch, because I wanted more space, and memory. Back in October, I had traded that for an iPad Pro M1. The M1 iPad Pro is a beast, for sure. And I really did enjoy procreate. Though iPad OS never truly clicked with me.

Recently I got the Tab S8 Ultra, and despite how I loved my iPad Pro, I have hardly touched it since I got the Tab. I just prefer the User Experience on the Galaxy more. And the S-Pen, while not objectively better really, fits the feel I prefer.

Also, of all the features available to a tablet or drawing display, there is no doubt that screen space is king.

I got no problem with the notch. I am hardcore android person, but even when apple came out with the notch, I had zero problems with it.

I find myself as someone who can't commit to one particular platform. I recently bought the 11 inch ipad pro which is big enough for me but if I was using as my computer I would want the tab s8 ultra. The only issue I have is both Apple and Samsung have made it really expensive to have a decent tablet. I live in Canada so the exchange rate affects my decision on which one I want to get. Great reviews though. I watched your videos a ton when deciding on the ipad pro and buying the logitech combo touch keyboard case to use with it.

I got the 256gb ultra and it's a magnificent tablet. I do have it on a stand rather than hold it on it's own. Just waiting on my free keyboard to arrive now.

You probably haven't owned a Samsung tab before. I've tried both in their latest version and I'm telling you in all honesty, Samsung tab is 10 times better than the best iPad I have used. It's crazy how people compare these two. I get the jinx about the ecosystem. Yes that's true. It's hard to leave the apple ecosystem but once you do, you'll realise there's no much difference. Anyway, just shifted full time to Samsung ecosystem and I must say it's extremely good.

Last devices I owned prior to getting Samsung was Huawei devices and those also are better experience than apple's. But when it comes to tablets, apple wins Huawei there but not with much difference. If not for the restrictions, Huawei would really beat apple to their game.

I love how detailed your reviews are. And you mention the little things too whereas alot of other reviewers just tend to repeat the entire spec list. You cover everything users and potential buyers need to know when practically using the tablet and I have to agree the display is the tab's crown jewel. The Tab S8 Ultra is my dream tablet I'd like to own even in a few years time( at least 2 years from now).

That notch has become more of a thing these days as laptop and tablet manufacturers move toward larger screens and smaller bezels. For me it's worth the tradeoff.

Allready reading the comments below of ipad I own a ipad8 and a ipad air also a sam tab 2018 and sam tab a7.... true, the ipads are smoother.... recently I purchased the tab S8 plus.... what an absolute awsome tablet.... the power is more than enough....not as powerfull as an ipad pro, but more than enough.... and the best thing about the S8.... you can do a lot of work with it.... DEX for the ipad pro...well ....its all dressed up with no place to

There is no controversy. The notch becomes unnoticeable. I wonder if those who can't get over the notch can wear watches? You get used to the notch (it does not detract from the brilliant display) just like you get used to the watch on your wrist. Lol

The Tab S8 Ultra might be to big for me. If I would buy a galaxy Tab it would be the S8+ but I'm not sure if I really need a tablet because it can't fully replace my laptop. Still great devices though.
