Minimizing YouTube video in iPhone is a native function … It means you don’t have to do anything special or extra… you don’t even need the YouTube app.

Turns out this picture-in-picture feature is also inside the YouTube app settings. Mine was turned off but now I can do this!

Sometimes it works great on you tube app/streaming apps (paramount, max, sports apps ESPN, fox) and sometimes it doesn’t work. Very puzzling. My swipe up still needs some work I guess lol

Not sure if anyone will read this, but I read the comments saying it only works sometimes and I believe the reason to be that if you are trying to listen to music, it won’t let you. That’s my conclusion because I have tried so many times with music videos and to cheat YouTube premium but only regular videos like this one work.

If it’s not working it’s probably because you have other apps running in the background, close those apps and you should be good 😉

I have done it a couple times unknowingly but never when I really mean to do it😢. It’s not working right now

I think that works with specific videos, cause I checked that one video can be picture in picture, but other videos cannot be done like this.

It has to be atleast an hr vidio, nick works for mee

You can also now make that screen bigger or smaller

Not all videos allow it I’ve figured out. Some videos including this one doesn’t. A lot and I mean a lot of trial and error to figure this out me sitting trying to do this. Ok what works for me is centre bottom swipe/slide my finger to the top of the right corner all the way to the corner. Some videos work some don’t I’ll reiterate

i think it depends on the video😭 cause i cant do it on most videos but i can do it on sam and colbys conjuring videos for some reason. At first i thought you need to lock your screen on yourube and swipe off but apparently not.
