This only works with random videos. Most videos don't minimize, but some still do. It's like 50-50.

There is also a way to make YouTube play in background even on screen off. Use it all the time and ony opening the screen again if the video finished or the long ad plays

Ito if pinoy ka. Palakihin mo muna screen mo yung naka rotate sya (full screen) habang nanunuod. Tapos hold press mo yung nasa right side phone mo katabi ng home

Note: This only works in the US and only works on some videos apparently. You need youtube premium to play picture in picture.
