So basically they made the club buy itself for them, without paying a penny themselves and with a ridiculous amount of interest. Literally bleeding the club dry. Wow.

Utd should be owned like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid are owned by the fans and only presidents or CEO are voted in to be in charge of the club hopefully this would happen in the future

Glazers have started a trend in the united states where teams owners don't pay for stadiums, the state does. I think John Oliver from Last Week Tonight did a video on the subject of owners not paying for stadiums while the state pays for it and doesn't get any revenue cut from the sales of tickets.

It says a lot about SAF to still have success despite the Leveraged buyout clause. If any one else was in charge during that period, then Man Utd would've had a Leeds-style financial meltdown.

This was very interesting. Makes me wanna know more about the current debt situation of Man Utd. You could possibly consider series on how clubs have crumbled due to bad financial decisions and debts. I'm sure there will be plenty of those.

Tifo does Football economics so well.

Man U is an example of keeping up with the Joneses but I get why it has to be done. it makes the Ferguson era all the more incredible. I think he should have coached the English team, so much potential unfulfilled .

The debt brought by the Glazer family seems insurmountable when put into perspective.

I wonder if Tifo could do a video on Stadium attendance in top flight European football. From highest matchday attendance to ticket prices etc.

The Glazers purchase of Manchester United should have been illegal. There is no way they should have bought the club with borrowed money, and then put their debt on the club. They chose to borrow money to buy something, therefore the debt should lie with them alone. If you buy something with borrowed money, say a computer from PC World, you don't put the debt on PC World for something you did.

Man city owner : use his money to improve club
man united owner : use his money to get more debt

That's the reason I don't want Glazers to own man utd. I don't mind them not investing in the club but taking money out which could have been invested for the better of the club. Plus big money signings were unheard of during the Glazers' era until their patriarch died in 2014.

Funny how this video is even more relevant right now even though it's 2 years ago. Sooner or later the fans will outright start hunting down the Glazers, Woodward and Matt Judge for their incompetence in running a football club.

Man utd would have won much more if they had better owners. We literally replaced Ronaldo with valencia, wouldn't pay less than 15m for ozil etc
