When I came to terms with being an atheist, I was a little in denial because I didnt want to upset my family, but the thing that gave me that last push was my niece being scared of the dark, pretty normal for someone her age, my aunt stuck biblical images on her wall to "protect her" wich is cool, if she thinks it works it will since its in her mind, but after that she said that those who believe in God know evil spirit will not hurt them, it sucks but I completely disagree, I think none of that exists, I stoped being scared of ghosts when I started doubting God.

I found my way back to this song after having to sit through a service for my mother's funeral service. Listening to the preacher and family members talk about how "Jesus has her now". Pretty sure if anything he had her by the throat after her three year cancer battle.

Hadn't listened to this song in a long time and recently fell asleep drunk and had multiple episodes of sleep paralysis and through the dreams/nightmares, this realisation hit me that no matter what I do in this life no matter what happens no matter what connections I make life is simply a memory maker with no purpose except for temporary survival it's almost as if it's a glitch. Was never religious I was spiritual and open-minded but now I'm just kinda accepting that memories and emotions of this life will forever be lost in a pit of darkness as soon as we die... kinda fucking depressing makes me wonder what difference does it make if we die today or tomorrow. Anyway, the lyrics at 1:38 feel way heavier I feel like I understand the lyrics so much more now. Never realised how deep this song actually was.

In 2019 I committed suicide by overdose and was clinically dead twice, I saw nothing, felt nothing, heard nothing but deafening silence. And I was expecting to see fire and screaming. It's honestly more terrifying. Like going to sleep with no dreaming or waking up. (I took the pills feel asleep at my desk at school and my gf told me what happened after that. I woke up in the hospital and her asleep in the chair next to me.)

As someone who used to be a Christian because my parents force me to be one as a child but later I found out they were trying to convince me that God is good but never told me the truth about how God really is....I had doubts on him. So I approve this music. Gonna start sharing this with Christian people that rely on God too much. 😁
