This was totally me in school. I was capable of getting better grades, but just kind of cruised through, not pushing myself to do better, just as long as i passed. My parents were chill too, otherwise i would have worked harder to please them. 😅

This definitely explains it. I sometimes get irritated with teaching that centers on competition . I'm happer completing with myself - which is probably what I do when I put in a little more effort, like you explain.

I feel like when I don’t try to grab something, it comes to me naturally and easily. But if I give it extra attention put in the extra effort the results aren’t better. So I just relax about it and exercise patience.

I’m also all about fairness. I want mutuality. Even when I ran a department, I tried to run it via consensus and only over ruled the group if my ass would be on the line (incredibly rare). People who worked with me loved it, loved knowing they could help shape our product and who we were to the clients served. 

When I became a corporate attorney, I had to put my foot down a number of times with my employer, but once the company owner understood my commitment to legal ethics and how I would resign if he broke the law, he listened and adjusted, and I didn’t get challenged. We ended up being a great team because I got to use use my whole work history and creativity and do so much more than handle legal issues.

I’d rather be respected and listened to because I’m competent than boss people around.

Exactly I’ve always been one to do the bare minimum and still succeeded. That’s why I hate when people put obstacles in my way to make things difficult for me like we’re not power-hungry we just go with the flow of life and things just happen.

I relate to doing the bare minimum and getting by, did it all the time in hs and its become a habit 😭. But tbh i as an infj might be laidback in real life but in my imagination im a pirate commander who rules the world with an iron fist lmao

Only one INFJ that I know is super laid back (and I am still debating whether or not he is an INFJ). The others are actually quite insistent (and I am 99% sure that they are INFJs).

Doesn't that contradict another idea you said that INFJs give a lot of ourselves and that we should take a step back and do the bare minimum?
