The child should have gone to her parents NOT his Mom!

Her daughter will find out that she, as a baby, was driven around in the same car as her mother's decomposing body.
That is absolutely horrific.
Joseph is disgusting.
May Mengqi rest in peace.

The fact she left her phone, passport, and the baby she was currently breastfeeding behind are immediate red flags. That poor mom was taken from her baby and that poor baby had to wean without the comfort of her mom because of her DIGUSTING father. Ugh this case always gets to me.

His mother was given custody of the baby, with required updates to her parents. Unclear if her parents have visitation. Since his mother raised a monster, I would have preferred baby Anna go to her parents personally.

The way he berates her… makes me feel disgusted. I can’t imagine how alone she must have felt being away from her family. He deserves to rot in jail. I really feel for the baby… she lost both her parents that day.

They love to always say "She left with someone else. She was cheating" etc etc.. It's not enough that you murdered her. You had to run her name through the mud too. Make her out like she left her poor husband and child behind to go with another man. So evil!

His interview looks like he was so excited about his wife’s missing. He was so happy that he can’t even hide it.

Poor girl thought she’d found a better life. Little did she know she married a narcissistic little weasel. A lying weasel at that. Maybe he’ll be taught a valuable lesson behind bars. The custody of the child should go to her parents. His mother was trying to help him get away and doesn’t deserve to have rights to the granddaughter.

Mengqis mother burying her belongings in the river made me cry… Joe is used to getting his way, and I’m positive his mom enabled his narcissistic tendencies his entire life.

It’s upsetting they gave him 28 years due to her age instead of giving him life for the rest of her life she missed.

That baby should have gone to the mother’s parents.

He was so loud and clear when he verbally abused her yet he mumbled like a coward in court. That only tells so much about him.

Psychopaths are so strange, they have no idea how unnatural their behavior is. He has an odd expression, and shows no emotion. I expect he’s pretending to be sad, as if that would be enough.

I can’t believe they gave his mom some custody she is just as dangerous for trying to help him!!!

It's hilarious that he really thought saying "I woke up to my 1yr old screaming crying at 5am n couldn't find my wife so I just went to bed. Then the next day I went out for a nice relaxing drive" didn't sound suspicious af 😂

“I just want her (them, him) back.” Words that give Chris Watts vibes. Killers always say this

This prosecutor dropped the ball. Could have easily have built intent based upon a supposed online affair and destroyed his story of an "accident" with all the recordings of him verbally abusing her. Sad that this guy will get to live the second half of his life outside of jail.

What's so eerie is how calm and soft spoken he was when he threatened and argued with her. That spells psychopath to me. I feel so bad that she had to endure that kind of life before he ended hers so tragically. I pray Anna gets to live with her mom's parents because her dad's mom will no doubt fill her head with lies. I also hope he rots for the next 25 yrs in prison!

His mother knew and covered for him. Blame men for sure, but also this mother did dirty.
