Why are osu!'s grades so... strange?

At some point in your osu! career you will find yourself wondering just this. How is it possible to have a B rank that looks like it should be an A, and vice versa? We explore why this is the case in this video.

Yeah it is simpler in lazer but seeing an S with 20+ misses is not rare and i think that kinda takes away from FCs since they are not differentiated. There needs to be something that makes FCs visible

I remember when I fc'd my first 5 star (in osu!droid) I got a 87% A rank and I was so confused

the funny thing is, in mania its super simple.
100% == SS
95%-99% == S
90%-94% == A
80%-89% == B
70%-79% == C
0%-69% == D

This is why I prefer osu mania, the acc system is not complicated
S = 95% or above
A = 90-94%
B = 80-89%
C = 70-79%
D = Below 69%

I noticed how weird it is in standard. Compared to other modes
In mania it makes a lot more sense being all based on your acc and the misscount doesnt matter. So 95 to 99.99 is an s rank, 90-94.99 is an a rank. 80-89.99 is a b and so on

Willy do you think score v2 is really will be the way to calculate scores in future? How will they convert past scores? Imagine people like hvick who no longer plays the game or imagine mrekk who has this much amount of 1k scores and put extreme amount of effort to their scores.

yep, weirdly i can know what rank that i get after playing and seeing what i have done while playing the map

It's so annoying when you think you got an S rank but you actually hit a few 50's so it's an A rank I stead

Imagine someone setting a 100% A rank in a osu map since getting one single miss gets you A rank



(It requires like 100k objets on the map to have a 100% A possible and you have to SS all the note but misses one note
