One thing people forget is that the cinematics for Twin Snakes were directed by Ryohei Kitamura who is known for his exaggerated and over the top action sequences.

Twin Snakes cutscenes were exaggerated a lot. It was like watching The Matrix.

I remember reading a theory that MGS1 on the PS1 is Snake going through Shadow Moses while Twin Snakes is the VR scenario Raiden did (which he refers to doing in MGS2).

It makes sense because of how Snake acts in Twin Snakes. He does some stuff that you wouldn't expect him to do but you might expect Raiden to. For example, running up an active missile.

When I first saw it, I busted out laughing. To me, it adds to the exaggerated, over the top cutscenes. We all know what really happens, let's have a little fun with it.

I’ve never pegged Solid Snake as a man who would threaten/end the life of an innocent person. I loved the concept of Twin Snakes but it is truly outrageous.
