My personal favorite is Sons of Liberty. The opening tanker, Colonel AI, Solidus Boss Fight, and overall story just makes me love it the most

One my most memorable experiences was playing metal gear solid on PlayStation as a teen and remembering when solid snake sneaks onto a base in Alaska and mentions the desk jockeys at the nsa! My mom perked up and said they finally mentioned my job in a video game damb! Something I’ll never forget god rest her soul! Also growing up as kid being introduced to the metal gear series through the nintendo entertainment series metal gear 1987 even tho the story was changed from the pc version metal gear msx which i never had a chance to play. The series as whole played some vital role in learning about the world good and bad! Who knew these games had so much knowledge! im half way almost finished phantom pain!

Agreed, you could say this one had the best story, this one had best mechanics, design, gameplay, ending, etc but MGS1 is the perfect middle point, controls bit rusty but it’s the game that defines and “character” of MGS1

MG3 was the pinacle of the franchise for me and the nostalgia goes ridiculously hard. I had a PS2 and PSP when growing up so this and MG: Portable Ops were my introduction to the series, imagine my surprise when I pick up the others and have to come to grips with the man, the myth, the Big Boss being the goddamn bad guy

Kojima has stated now serval times that TPP is finished. It is a finished story and a game he is happy with. Despite the unfinished cutscenes we know the story. I would encourage people to appreciate the game we did get and the huge amount of effort and work that went into this game

One of my favorite scenes from Phantom Pain that sticks with me is having to clear your base of infected soldiers you picked and in my case spent a lot of time training up one by one. "You're all diamonds" 😭

MGS 1 is the goat. I fell in love with it from the moment I first played it when I was 13. Have finished it more than any other game I own. I do love Phantom Pain. I get hours of enjoyment just doing the side ops, redoing ops and finding new ways to just enjoy the terrain and terrorize the guards

Mgs5 was unfinished but the msx games kinda fix that, plus they were re-released with mgs3 hd

I actually played games to see the storyline and watch it like a movie so I didn’t mind all the cut things. Afterthought storylines is why I don’t play more games. I like to know why I’m doing something. Why it’s important. I love them all except for three. Eating snakes and bullshit in the woods. The scene almost never changing made it just dull. It’s the only one I quit out of boredom. I beat the rest.

The gun chat of mgs3 got me into weapon history and odd trivia. Probably a good way to ease the mind during heavy moments

For Me the first MGS is also the Best. The Atmospere and the Characters are 10/10
