Great videos, absolutely loved every single piece. Very clear and concise. It would be great to have your opinion on something I've been considering for some time. (Sorry in advance, that it ended up being a long question.)

I am working towards my PhD degree in strategic management, and also planning to start a freelance gig by the time I graduate (in about 2 years). I've had brief experiences at two of the large consulting firms in the past, and have started two e-commerce businesses with modest sales figures.

However, my interest really lies in consulting, largely due to the intellectual stimulus. I've been accepted to work part-time for a consulting boutique to offer support to more experienced consultants, so that I can learn the process&relationship aspects. On the other hand, I also have to do numerous one-on-one interviews with industry managers for my dissertation, which I believe will widen my network to be leveraged in the future.

In order to narrow my industry&subject focus, I've decided to focus on digital transformation at SMEs. Digital transformation; since my dissertation topic and entrepreneurial experience provide some content. And SMEs; since they would more highly value the input of someone with an advanced degree, compared to corporates full of politics and 'know-it-all's. I believe it would be a soft transition from the PhD candidate who studies the topic, to the subject-matter specialist with a toolkit to employ.

My biggest weakness will be a lack of hands-on experience as a full-time practitioner. However, I believe I can bridge the gap with this strategy. It would be great to have your opinion on whether I'm on the right track, and what else I can do to ramp up quickly. Many thanks in advance.

All the best from Turkey :)

Great video. How does one reach out to prospects when you’re still unknown? I’ve heard of meet ups, cold email, blog, but haven’t had a positive experience. Thinking of reaching out to executives I know with some research and my perspective.
