In 2011, an ancient temple in Kerala, the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, made headlines when vast treasures were discovered in secret vaults under the temple. Gold, silver, gems and jewels on a scale that boggles the mind were stored in them. How did the treasure get there? Just how much wealth is there? And who does it all belong to now? This is the story of the richest temple in the world.

Greetings from Quebec, Canada! I wanted to share my heartfelt admiration for the enchanting country of India. During my visit, I was mesmerized by the diverse and breathtaking landscapes, the rich and flavorful cuisine, the vibrant culture, and above all, the real treasure isn't the magnificient Padmanabhaswany temple but the sincere kindness displayed by the people. My time in India left an everlasting impression on me, and I feel truly grateful for the wonderful experiences I had 🙏. I miss India so much, especially Kerala 😉.

We're so lucky that these treasures are still in Trivandrum and not in London

The Royal Family are very humble. The previous ruler was so simple and show no luxury unlike others. Kerala should learn from them

I lived my whole life in Trivandrum, it may not be as developed as Kochi but this royal city and its treasures are hidden in plain sight. This temple is in the heart of the city but if you have an eye for architecture you will see it’s ancient forts and walls which find its way through modern buildings, oddly placed random palaces and ancient houses, community of multiple generations Tamil Brahmin priests and the whispers of it’s treasures and myths.Unlike Mysore kings, Travancore kings were humble, they never lead a lavish lifestyle or spent money on majestic palaces .India had many rich kingdoms but got looted by invaders but Travancore got lucky with their treasures.

Very well presented. Interesting to hear about the different ways in which the wealth accumulated. Wonder how come the East India company was not tempted to lay their hands on this wealth

The 22 billion is just the value of gold in valt A with out adding cultural and architectural value, and the gold is ultra pure than ordinary 24 carat gold and there is lots of diamond bigger than kohinoor
From an ancient record the valt b contains around 800 billion worth of treasure with out adding cultural and architecture value...

Wow 😳 thanku so much for this .
Earlier i thought... Karela was called God's own country... And it was done by Christians.
But today I find out the absolute king 👑❣️
Om namah Narayana ❣️🙏
Odissa becomes the kingdom of Sri jagarnath as well.
I'm from North Bengal, in our place the royal deity is Sri madanmohan ( Krishna) ... The kingdom of coochbehar. I wished if the king of coochbehar did the same it would be better.
